Influencer insurance

Influencer insurance: get covered for brand deals, posts, and claims.

The short answer

Influencer insurance from CreatorSure has two halves. Media liability pays for your defense when someone says a post, review or sponsored video defamed them, used their work or broke the rules of a brand deal. Fight Back helps pay for a lawyer when someone steals your content or a brand keeps running it after the deal ends.

Your posts make you money. Insurance for influencers keeps one bad claim from taking it back.

What it covers

What influencer insurance covers (media liability + Fight Back)

Two halves, one quote. Media liability for when someone comes after you. Fight Back for when you need to go after them.

  • Claims that a post, story or review defamed someone
  • Copyright claims over music, photos or clips in your content
  • Privacy and likeness claims from people in your posts
  • Disputes over sponsored content and brand deal terms
  • Fight Back for stolen content, fake accounts and brands that overstay a license

The risks

Real risks influencers face

  • Brand deals. A brand says your post broke the contract or hurt its name.
  • Sponsored content. A product claim in your caption becomes their complaint, and yours.
  • Reviews. An honest bad review still draws a demand letter.
  • FTC issues. Disclosure and endorsement complaints can land on the influencer, not only the brand.
  • Stolen content. Your photos and videos reposted by accounts farming your audience.

Fight Back

Fight Back: when someone steals your content or a brand misuses it

Most insurance waits for you to get sued. Fight Back helps pay for takedowns, demand letters and a lawyer to go after people who take your work. It's for theft you find after your policy starts.

Reposts and stolen content

Accounts that repost your photos and videos as their own.

Brands running your content after the deal

A brand keeps your post in paid ads after the license ends.

Fake accounts

Copycats using your name and face to message your followers.

Lies that cost you deals

False claims about you that make brands walk away.

Proof of insurance

Proof of insurance for brands and agencies

Brands, talent agencies, influencer agencies, managers and event organizers often ask for proof before a campaign starts. Once you're covered, CreatorSure sends a certificate of insurance to whoever needs it.

General liability

Does general liability cover influencers?

General liability, or GL, is the policy lots of small businesses buy. One part of it, Coverage B, is for personal and advertising injury. For an ordinary business, like a plumber, that part typically covers defamation claims.

An influencer's business is publishing content, so that part is often limited or excluded for you. This is called the media exclusion, and GL doesn't address claims over your content the way media liability does.

Keep GL for physical accidents (CreatorSure covers general liability too and will place it alongside your media liability), and add media liability for your content.

Cost

How much does influencer insurance cost?

There's no flat price, and we won't guess at one here. Your influencer insurance cost depends on audience size, how much you earn from brand deals, the kind of content you post, the limits a brand contract asks for, and your claims history.

CreatorSure builds the quote around you, so you're not paying for extras you don't need. See what moves the price, then request a quote for a real number.
